FanArt: 'Roses are Violet'

I've had three revisions of this piece... and this one, I think, is my favorite. Painter 7 completely from sketch to final [aside the border/text]. I love the color for the shadow on her skin... if I was wise I'd've continued it into the hair, but skin reacts to color faster. I have always liked Beatrix as a character, and she inspired me to try this style of 'painting' in Painter. I'm very pleased with it. It's not a study per se, but I suppose it counts somewhere as one - it's more a portrait.

5 Nov 2003	Sara Danielle Jans	Loading... Yay! Beatrix! Love the colors, they go well together (the violet and her skin tone, specifically). However, her lips are a little on the smallish side. BUT!!
