Hiyas!=) I've recently grduated high school and will be attending Caltech in the fall, but I have been doodling since I was little. I've never been the kind of person you look at and think 'art person' - my strength in academics has always dominated my personality. However, in group projects, I often found myself illustrating(unless there was a genuine art freak in the group:o)). I have never really believed I was a good artist - things don't spring out of my mind easily. But I have always been good at copying what I see.
Recently, I have realized that most other people draw in stick figures;) I had no idea most people couldn't sketch, even with a model... okay - so I'm just really naive - shoot me;)
Anyway, I took some art classes when I was in elementary school, but then academics became more important. (I'm Asian - all my parents care about are A's...not pretty art;)) But during middle school, I always enjoyed art - I loved watching my friends draw cartoons and I secretly wished I had access to my friends english and chinese comics.
Finally, in high school, I started to grow really interested in anime. Oh, it had been around me for ages - it's hard to escape when you're only 2nd generation and *all* the rest of your family still lives in Taiwan=) I had just never realized the connection between that stuff and some of the badly hacked up dubs I had seen on TV:o) Anyway, the rest is history - I started to watch a lot of different shows and naturally, I wanted to imitate the gorgeous images I found on the screen. So I started to draw fan art and learn to draw in anime style:o)
