I am a 21 year old computer animator at Deos Animation Studios. Currently, we're working on animation and effects for a children's show, and we're beginning preproduction on a fully animated sci-fi feature film.

I have a particular love of The Matrix, Star Wars and Unico films. I'm also a fan of Tolkien's LotR books, R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt series, Anne McCafferey's Pern series, and Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising series. Photoshop is my newfound medium of choice, and I've also begun to work more extensively with Terragen, a free 3d terrain rendering program.

Your feedback is important to me! Any and all constructive criticism is most welcome.

Sorry to bother you but I this page kind of freaked me out: http://www.animationarena.com/choosing-an-animation-school
example: “There are no guarantees in this business. It's one part talent and two parts part luck..”
”Once you get into the biz, you're over the biggest hump. From then on, you're one of the players who move from one studio to the next, looking for a better job opportunity.”
”Some people find work but can't keep up with the pace. They end up burning out or getting fired.”
”In terms of training, few actually get the "right" training. They go to a crash course program like Mesmer f/x (which teaches you about brand X software in 3 short weeks), put together a rather weak demo reel in the same timeframe, and then hit the streets looking for a job” …. really scary.
But on terragen, is it possible to make like beaches and maybe trees, a closer perspective? Or do I have to add such thing through another program.
