Yet another Sirius... Yes, I know, I'm obsessed! Next time, I'll draw Snape, I promise.
This one was to illustrate this, by Thistlerose:
On the inside of Number Twelve Grimmauld Place, nothing has changed. Sirius Black, who has been hunched over his writing desk since he found himself unable to get back to sleep six hours ago, glances out the window from time to time, but barely takes in what he sees. If a whirlwind picked up this house and set it down on a tropical island or atop a mountain in the Himalayas, so long as Sirius was forced to remain inside, he would not care.
The fishpond in which Kreacher drowned the puppy eight-year-old Sirius brought home from Hyde Park, and in which Sirius’ cousin Bellatrix once tried to drown /him/, is covered completely. The yew tree, which grows by Sirius’ window and is nearly taller than the house itself, is laden with snow; its branches droop under their burden and knife-sharp icicles cling to their undersides. Ginny Weasley hung a birdfeeder from one of the branches this past summer, but though Sirius filled it with sunflower seeds and breadcrumbs, no birds or squirrels have come to it. Christmas lights glow red and green on the houses on either side of Number Twelve; they cast pools of color onto the snow. Everything on this side of the wrought iron fence, however, is black and white.
One of my first pics in pastel pencils. I'm beginning to like this medium a lot, at least when it comes to portraits and indoor scenes.
Illustration inspired by JK Rowling's Order of the Phoenix, fifth Harry Potter book.
wow O.O you portrayed sirius exactly as i pictured him in my head! i think the movies kinda ruined him =-( you did so well! and with pastels! im just learning how to use pastels. wow. congratz on mod's choice!!!! Hélène Bruneton replies: "Thank you so much! I'm glad we imagined him in similar ways. Though I did imagine him very ragged and not that handsome looking after Azkaban, especially during the PoA timeline."
poor Sirius... so alone in this dark and cold house... beautiful picture! Hélène Bruneton replies: "Thank you! I'm glad you got this feeling with this picture. This is what I was going for! And yeah, what a terrible time for him..."
Ooh, I love this one. I think I prefer this version of Sirius to some of your other portrayals, although I'm not sure why. This one just seems to gel more with my mental image or something. I love the feeling in this one - that frustration that ran through all of book 5. I loved that book for some reasons, but it isn't really fun to read because it's so blasted frustrating! You totally capture that here. The text is great too; I love the details. Hélène Bruneton replies: "Thanks a lot! I'm glad you liked this particular one. I tried to make it a bit sad and sort of caged - but with some sort of calm, as well. Maybe that's what appealed to you?"

This is beautiful, and sad. I would also like to know where you got the writing from. And no one should complain about you drawing Him, he’s so obviously the best character.
