FanArt: Hellsing's Secret Weapon

One of the coolest characters out there. This is Alucard from Hellsing, done in grayscale chalks. I decided to experiment in chalk, and I think that I did a pretty good job for my first time.

How come my "first times" never turn out this nice? Grrr.

Lovely job, by the way...

:-) Jacob E. Evans replies: "Thanks! I was surprised at myself, when I finished."

on the one I watched they called him Arucard, isn't that his name?

:-) Jacob E. Evans replies: "Well on my copies, his name is pronounced Alucard, eventhough it does say Arucard in the credits. I just liked the Alucard pronounciation better. (P.S. The below explanation covers this better)"

Actually, about his name, it's really Alucard, which is Dracula spelled backwards (and that has a reason, but I won't give anything away to anybody who hasn't seen it. ^_^) The "Arucard" pronunciation is because in Japan, they don't have the "l" sound, so it gets said "Arucard" and thus spelled that way in American credits and subtitles. Personally, I find myself saying both from time to time. lol. I have to say that I think it's supposed to be the "Alucard" spelling, because of the obvious Dracula backwards aspect, but at the same time, I like Arucard, because it's how it's said in the original version of the show, so-...yeah. take your pic, it can be either one. hehe.

:-) Jacob E. Evans replies: "For obvious reasons indeed. That right there right about covers it. I'm glad I don't have to type that much to explain it 10."

hahahahahhah *sorry*

I LOVE Van Hellsing and I of course love Alucard! He is so great with his mad expression on the face! ^^ And you did a very good job on his face!!!! ^^

Have you seen the movie?? I am going to watch as soon as I am healthy again... *sighs*

By the way, really sweet pic!! 12 Cute!!

Have a nice day!!

:-) Jacob E. Evans replies: "I haven't seen the movie yet. I do need to point out that the movie and the anime are not exactly related. I think that the Van Helsing in the movie was the forefather (or founder) of the Hellsing organization in the anime, but I have nothing to base that on at all 10. Anyway, I'm glad you like it!"

Damn - this is so sweet! The medium you used really really sets a perfect mood for Alucard. I especially like the white outline in the darkness - he stands out so well!!! Excellent
