FanArt: DoA Girls: Helena

Yes, another picture of my favorite video game girl and I must admit I'm really satisfied with this one. Since I started doing computer colored art, I've rarely done much more than sketches with pencils. Recently though, I've been a bit inspired to revive my skills - thanks at least in part have to go to Mike Burley - and combine that with a simmering desire to do more DoA fan art I figure a portrait of Helena was a good place to start.

First, please no comments on her sizeable bust-line - if you have gripes about that, take it up with Team Ninja who created the character. I'm very pleased with how this turned out...I think her face is more or less accurate (though her bangs are shorter here...) and I really like how her bow turned out. I didn't really draw her in any previously seen outfit...just a little bits of what she's wearing (which shows off her love of the sea). This is but the first in what I hope to be a number of pictures...and you can see the second one (Kasumi) as well!

See now, at first I thought she was a fish lady but something about her seemed familior and yup its helena, one of the hardest to master fighters and coolest to beat people with., Great job. Im glad shes not a fish person. Thanks for the comment...glad you like her! I agree that she's a tough character to use efficiently but stringing together a nice combo with her is very neat. I'll probably end up doing more pictures of her in this style, so stay tuned.

I always loved how soft and regal her expression came across. Thanks for the comment! My favorite feature of her is her eyes - aqua blue is my favorite color and her eyes are wonderful to look at. I'll definitely have to give some thought to your mermaid idea...I think she'd definitely like the idea too.

I dont have the slightes clue who helena is ..But im so going 2 find out now.... Or it will bother me forever..And forever is such a long time...
