FanArt: Benediction of The Emperor

This is one I did in on Easter 2005. What a way celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus, by drawing pictures of apocalyptic warfare. Well I guess for religions sake it is a picture of a Dark Angel Interrogator Chaplin, the holy representative of the battlefield. This Scene takes Place on a far off world. In the background you have the Sky being engulfed with smoke and fire from the debris of a wrecked Eldar space cruiser. Marines Have been sent down as a search and rescue team to destroy or capture anyone that might have survived. These characters are figures from Warhammer 40,000 board game. The central figure Is a Chaplain from the Dark Angels Space Marine chapter and much to his surprise he has a live Eldar Farseer at his feet. The Farseer, beside his fallen Howling Banshee bodyguard, is trying a last attempt to weave one last spell on his adversary. I started this as a sketch Inked it using a pen and ink then I colored it in Photoshop. I really need to work on my line density when it comes to laying down ink I also Think the back ground is a little dull I should of put more bodies and maybe some vegetation. The Chaplains pose isn’t that dynamic, I would have put him in the traditional robe but I thought it would be a good exercise to draw the embellished armor.

I don't usually comment but for this art I had too. I absolutely love this pic. I'm a huge fan of the space marines and at the same time I loathe the eldar with all that I am. Chaplains are the coolest. I hope you don't mind I saved this pic to my computer.
