FanArt: Kifish Servant

The idea for this comes from the Chanur series novels by C.J. Cherryh, which was a SF political drama about a group of interstellar territories that were each run by differing species of extraterrestrial peoples. One of these species was the Kif - who were very dangerous, treacherous, extremely aggressive & individualistic, and whose ambitions often proved disruptive. However, if you made sure they knew you were the boss, you could trust them completely...as long as you could remain the boss....This picture is of a low - ranking servant of their kind, who is tending to an incense sphere in preparation for an important meeting (incense was a nescessity in Kif politics...because it hid the scent of fear)

Hello. I, too, have read the series - very intruiguing!

I admire your work (as it looks as if it has been made in MS Paint - I posess little skill with that program).
Your portrayal of the Kif without the usual vision-obstructing hood/cloak is a nice change; the skull form and snout of the Kif (becuase of their angle and prominance on the page) are also an admirable component of your art.

Good work! I look forward to seeing more some time (as there are few artists who have used Cherryh's work as an art basis...)

Hey, cool! Came over from MuggleNet and was very surprized to meet a Cherryh character.
But people who enjoy Snape surely enjoy kif. 2

Thänx for the pic!

(HP is fine, but Cherryh's devine!)

7 Julia ann lock replies: "..and both Snape and the kif have such good dress-sense ^^"
