FanArt: New geodude (sketch)

Game: Pokémon (Gameboy Advanced)
Character: Geodude (Pokedex #74)

Status: This is the new, and improved geodude. The old version really sucks, partly because it looks to much alike the original and partly because I made a sucky picture, but keep it for comparison (for a while). This is just a sketch. I am currently working on designing the arms and also on colouring it.

Thoughts on design: Lives in caves in the game. Possible foodsource are roots, mosses, mushrooms. May even be soft minerals (chalk, sandstone) or other cavedwelling pokémon (small and slow enough). Seem to be hoovering slowly, knuckles almost touching the ground. Hornlike boneridges (seems defensive or decorative) over eyes and has bony, ridgey back. Has no society or grouping. Silent, non-agressive, unless aggravated. The name simply seems to be a combination of latin for earth (geo) and "dude". Silly, but... silly. Actually, I believe the first game design had a certain rock'n'roll-hairdo-like shape to the upper head, but I won't take that into account in my redesign because I'm not sure... ... and it's silly. ;)
