| 28 Jun 2002 | Breanne J. Diehl | *Does scary interpretive version of the first comment dance* Awwww!! I love Gir! (especially in the disguise) ^_^ Good job. Kathryn M. Kramer replies: "Thank you. I really can't draw him in his disguise very well...well, I can if I have a reference picture, but that's cheating!" | |
| 3 Jul 2002 | Charles H. Tyler, IV | Cheating!! there's no cheating in art! Well... tracing is cheating, and writing your name on someone elses stuff, and swiping it just before they finish it then putting the finishing stroke on it and handing it in...... >·° Kathryn M. Kramer replies: "Reference pictures aren't cheating? That's news to me! But...yeah...those other things would definetly be cheating." | |
| 17 Jan 2003 | Jesse Hughes | Shoot, I'd rather see Gir sans-dogsuit anyhow. You do great pencil work! Keep it up! But, hey! Reference pics are not cheating in the least!!! Animators use character sheets! Animators, hmmm? Those guys rock! Kathryn M. Kramer replies: "Thank you very much. I'm considering being an animator, but I'm not sure. Meh." | |
| 13 Apr 2003 | KServo | Gir is sooo cute! But, with regards to the other posts, tracing in itself is not cheating. In fact, tracing can be very useful when learning to master a new style of animation. Many animators encourage young artists to do this to get a feel for unusual interpretations of art and to work out how everything fits together. Tracing a picture then passing it off as your own artwork IS cheating though. Reference pics aren't cheating either (well, not necessarily) because, well you want to draw it correctly, don't you? *Ahem* Had to enter the conversation for that. Sorry. But... Gir is the überlord! Long live Gir! *waves a little flag* Long live the Irken Empire! *is shot* ... Why does that always happen? Kathryn M. Kramer replies: "I don't know...." | |
