FanArt: Tomoe...

I put my heart into this piece because the subject deserves it. Tomoe is by far my favorite character (female character) in Rurouni Kenshin, and even though she doesn't appear in any of the anime, i've seen her in the oav's and she is quite inspiring. Tomoe is very beautiful, and i wanted to capture her beauty as well as the sadness in her death. Kenshin cries when she dies, and I think that's the only time in his life that he cried. It was so sweet...he really loved her.

I close my eyes

And I see her sweet face

Smiling up at me

An angel in the dark

The guide that leads my heart

It was so cold

Without her

I was so lost

Without her

The emptiness inside me

The merciless cruelty I held in my hands

It finally made its mark

The scar I carry forever

The blood of innocence trickles down my cheek

I have brought the rain of blood

Now the smell is stained in me forever

Now I can never be rid of my scar

But then she came

White iris in the rain of blood

Gentle tranquility, merciful maiden

White iris in the rain of blood

Shattering my wall of solitude

Opening my heart to weakness

She filled me

I was consumed in her white plum scent

Such sweet innocence

The divine woman I long to have

I long to touch

To take as my own

She came to me

I needed her

I, a killer, too bloodstained to bear such beauty

She, an iris, too pure to know her love

Then such rage at her betrayal

The sweet dream lost forever

I cried

The pain of her existence, on that day, I died

The blood in me roared like no other

I blindly stumbled through

Slashing and killing all in my wake

An endless slaughter of life

Then the final strike

As weariness came to my body and soul

The pain will be gone now I thought

I opened my eyes

She lay at my feet

Life pouring a pool in the snow

My love, sweet iris in the rain of blood

I open my eyes
