FanArt: Grindylow, Mythical Water Creature Found In Harry Potter Books

He is not what I'd call a cute and cuddly little guy, but I'm quite fond of him. After reading about him in one of the Harry Potter books, I had this idea of how a Grindylow should look just pop up like a picture in my mind, so I hurried and sketched him. After I finished the rough draft, I did a search on the net to see how other people might have sketched one. I was surprised to find that there weren’t very many sketches of them at all. I colored him in PhotoShop. My first sketch ever colored with Photo Shop. “Such a cute little Grindylow” *Pokes it* I like his fingers, his belly and his eyes. So what do you think?

You've certainly got photoshop to do a fair impression of watercolor. I never would have guessed you colored this on the computer. This guy is cute, but more to the point he very well drawn. I think you are definitely on your way.

This is great! He's so freaky, but for some reason kinda cute...

2 Mardi Byrd replies: "Hehe...that is exactly the way I wanted him to be seen. Like...if we could remove his teeth he'd make a great pet! LOL"

Great job on the Grindylow. It's not exactly how I pictured it, but it's a great how different people see the same thing. You did great and I hope you keep drawing. Perhaps you could draw a pic of a Bowtruckle. I'd like to see how you make him!

That face is so well done. I like how froggy you've made the rest of its body.

May I use this on a tour I'm making? Please let me know if you have any objections.

Hey, did you know your little critter shows up on this page?: http://www.lenntech.com/water-mythology.htm

I looked but I didn’t see any credit given. I could have just missed it.

:-) Mardi Byrd replies: "HUH? That’s interesting! Thank you Mr. Anon. for calling this to my attention! Hehe...I suppose I should be flattered that he or she used it. 12"
