Thanks for visiting my page! I love constructive criticism. I promise. As long as it’s not a flame, I’ll love any comment you make. I’m more than willing to comment-swap, if you ask.
Hhookay, so I’ve just gone through an extensive purging of my page. Nothing here is recent, the newest being over a year old, but at least I’ve gotten rid of the stuff I couldn’t stand any more. Which is why the gallery’s so empty. Heh. I’ve been in AP art this past year, and while I’ve improved a lot, it also has meant I haven’t had the spare time to spend on fantasy-related art. Hopefully I’ll be able to start some new stuff soon.
As for myself… I’m a soon-to-be freshman in college, living in the southeast US. Thinking of majoring in English with a creative writing track and taking minors in both French and music, although I’m really not very certain. For a long time I dreamed of becoming a novelist, but having realized just how much struggling and uncertainty that would entail, I’ve become much more hesitant. So… yeah. Living on the cusp of ambiguity.
I love Rodin, Van Gogh, the impressionists, the Romantics, Ursula LeGuin, Ursula Vernon, the Bronte sisters, Gothic architechture, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Baudelaire, Victor Hugo…that’s all I can think of at the moment. Oh, and of course, chocolate. That’s about it for artistic influences, except for the all-important advice and inspiration provided by my friends and fellow artists/writers: Kimberly Dennis, Maryanne Papke, and Enelya.

Welcome to Fan Quarter Mikanoma! (I need to get a fan page...). As usual I love your gallery. You have a very unique style reminiscent of the impressionism you like so much. I usually favor drawing with lines more than darkness vs. lightness because of the swaying easy movement lines can produce, but for less stylized things I use a lot of values, too. I hope to see more soon, so keep it up!
