| 2 Dec 2004 | Sandra Leigh Wagner | oh I love that comment!! I think the essense of Snape's beloved success is that he represents those troubled teachers who used to be the most abused student in school who is now in a position to lord it over all those who represent those who used to abuse him, if noble: to the end of giving them someone else to focus on instead of each other; if ignoble: out of a twisted sense of vengence. With Snape we see the teacher we always hated most, yet see why his is the way he is and are driven to sympathize. Johanna Iso-Järvenpää replies: "I agree what you said + that this character is the bad guy of the movie for those of us who always love the baddies." | |
| 8 Dec 2004 | Di | F-R-E-A-K! You should try to draw him from his character in Galaxy Quest! | |
| 30 Dec 2004 | Anon. | I love the saying by it! That's brilliant! very good drawing of Snape | |
| 2 Jan 2005 | Obsessed Fan | Hee hee hee! Great. My only possible critique to your lovely Rickmanesque sketch is that his cheek is possibly a teeny bit too round and saggy. Everything else is perfect. | |
| 2 Jan 2005 | The apprentice | I love this! It shows Snape as he is a sharp witted jerk who hates everyone because he thinks there all out to get him. he pushes himself from people because he is afraid of getting hurt. I believe Snape's behavior toward others shows what he thinks of himself. His thoughts are if I going to fall your going to go down with me. and you can't help but love his fighting, cruel spirit. *wink* I get you Snape sniff Johanna Iso-Järvenpää replies: "I think you are right. Sadly, there actually _are_ these kind of people." | |
| 25 Jul 2005 | R. Synasia K. | LOL! That's great! He looks so grumpy ~ just the way we love him! | |
| 10 Dec 2005 | Child | I love this picture, not just for the Rickmanish air of him, but also because you didn't 'pretty' him up. Professor Snape represents to me, my own sorrow, he's filled up with it. He has this huge knot inside him and it makes me feel for him. Thank you for sharing this work of art with me.
Respectfully, Child | |
| 29 Dec 2005 | Evoliador | i simply admire the way you put imaginary sight onto paper with a pencil - it must take you a long time to draw these pictures, even though they are sketchy...but this one in particular you have caught snape in a facial expression screaming - 'ALL BARRIERS DOWNNNnn...' and this is the man underneath seeping through the walls that have built his charecter - which i lurrvee. by the way i have fallen in love with your shading - you have caught exactly the right amount of light, dark and shadow...!!!!!!!! ee!! good going! Johanna Iso-Järvenpää replies: "Hi, Evoliador! I was quite moved and happy after reading all your engouraging comments. Immidiately, I began to wonder, do we know each other some way, or did you just happen to find my art and simply liked it? Anyhow, I'd like to answer your kind words now.No, it doesn't take very long to draw a piece like this, only 5 to 10 minutes. The hard thing is to catch the right mood. It might take an hour of good music, dreaming and staring at the paper before anything comes out. " | |
| 25 Apr 2006 | Siubhan | heh heh, very entertaining. and *oh*, how i do love alan rickman... i like that you sketch-draw, thats what I do too... i dont get the DRAW draw kinds.. i mean, they're cool too, and i'm uberplus-impressed with them, but scetching looks like you've felt and moulded the picture out of the page. Awesome work, keep drawing! | |
