Talon is Rook's grandsire. They travel together, with Rook acting as guardian for his elder. Talon himself is a wise and powerful healer. As with most members of their tribe both Talon and Rook paint their skins, and have names that in some way reflect the special relationship they have with birds.

Carter replies: "Yeah, Oddly enough, Like his grandson (Rook) Talon was supposed to be little more than a background character, But like Rook he too became a major personality. Although Talon died many seasons ago, Rook's sence of loss is still sharp.They were very close."
