FanArt: Bo LevarBo Levar, a swashbuckler, cigar smuggler, and one of the Nine Titans. His powerful planeswalker magic focuses mainly on blue magic, and he can easily empty a cube mile of ocean onto a battlefield to drown his enemies, or keep life in the ocean safe from ultimate destruction at the 'hands' of Dominaria's bane, Yawgmoth. | |

| 12 Jul 2003 | Anonymous | Bo Levar was my favorite. He was a planeswalker that still new how to have a jolly good time! Petter Dahl replies: "Yep, he definitely was one of the more level-headed walkers in the MTG storyline... him and Teferi" | |
| 23 Nov 2003 | Fede | Bo levar, es un re cheto, q se la come !!! aguante Urza Petter Dahl replies: "I'm not sure what that means, but I'm glad you like him" | |
| 21 Feb 2004 | Alison *Alene* Mutton | I am afraid I am not sure who Bo Levar is (I'm generally ignorant about such things- I never know what's going on) but I think you've done a good job! What I would suggest, however, is moving the leg on our left out a little, so that his feet are further apart. As he is, he looks very off-balance, as though he might topple over at any moment, but I think that position change should help. Also, you might want to paint some water coming up over the bottom edge of the boat, as it does not seem to be really *in* the water. Still, you have done a good job! Keep it up! Petter Dahl replies: "Good point about the boat, I didn't think about that. I could have made some lines indicating disturbance in the sea from the ship, but I'm actually not sure if it's supposed to be sailing or standing still." | |
| 21 Mar 2004 | figenschoug | Mind you, I would like to point out again that I know nothing about ships, so maybe this is kick ass And the coloring of the sails looks good. Petter Dahl replies: "Nah, I seriously doubt it is kick-ass. But thanks for trying to dig " | |
| 21 Mar 2004 | figenschoug | Nice background. (again) The water is much better this time around, perhaps because you didn't have to do a turbulent stream. The sky/clouds are sweet too. Also, I think that until you find some way tom make each individual strand of grass, it is a good idea to just include some details on general green, like you have done here. I believe my father found a "make grass" button on adobe. Including different sices for him to use at points of different distance. Hey presto! and such... Granted, he didn't do the whole carpet with this function, he was drawing somke incas onto a photograph, and just constructed grass where their feet touched the ground. Seriously, I don't know much about ships, but this one looks WRONG. See immensely simplified a whole lot of places. No ropes, no steering wheel, no rudder, and (to me at least) generally clumsy and unseaworthy looking lines. Sorry chum, but a prime scourge of the sea would probably be just as time consuming as that blue octopus dude of yours. Maybe just some sea effects hovering in the background instead? (Flag, cutlass, the few ropes you DID include, sails, etc.) Petter Dahl replies: "He might have a different version from mine, I can't find any 'make grass' buttons! =( But yeah, I actually learned that from Donald Duck, I think, only including the more significant parts of small details you don't want to wear yourself out drawing individually. As for the ship, I'm sure it's wrong on so many levels I won't even go there I just wanted to try my hand at having one in, crash and burn though it may" | |
| 21 Oct 2005 | Kyle | Bo Levar had red hair... not blonde... otherwise swell job! Petter Dahl replies: "Red hair? Where'd you get that from? I think it's Guff you're thinking of, he's got red hair." | |
| 3 Nov 2005 | Kyle | I'm pretty sure they both had red hair. Confound me for not bringing my Magic books with me to the dorms... I could be mistaken though, but it definetely looked red in all of the cards that featured him. Petter Dahl replies: "The cards featuring him show his hair as darkish blonde or possibly light brown, but for sure not red. Sorry mate =)" | |
| 19 Dec 2005 | Calgarth | Bo levar had blonde hair, check the cards in fact. Good pic though Bo looks kinda dejected. Petter Dahl replies: "Dejected is the word... his home plane is pretty much being destroyed after all." | |
