Hello, and thanks for visiting my Elfwood page. Short bio: I'm 24 years old. Born and grew up in Bergen, Norway. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Language & Voice from the Univ of Redlands, California. Now taking some science classes at high school level in order to apply to study medicine at the university.
I love travelling, gaming, roleplaying, singing, and, of course, making art. I'm big on the fantasy genre, and keywords for inspiration are as follows: Magic: the Gathering, the Wheel of Time, Dungeons and Dragons, EverQuest, a Song of Ice and Fire, Warcraft, Dungeon Siege, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, ElfQuest.

Very nice. Are you going to do pictures of the other Planswalkers? Petter Dahl replies: "After I am done with the Titans? Maybe. I've been wanting to do Serra, but we'll have to see where my inspiration lies when I'm done with these."
I love the poses for your pics! So, I take it you like Magic: The Gathering? lol, me too! I love the art, anyway, great job on your drawings! If I may, I would suggest more backgrounds, even though I myself don't do many bg's, mainly cuz I'm lazy but anyway, I like your drawings, keep it up, buh bye now! Petter Dahl replies: "Yep, I'm a fan of Magic: The Gathering. And especially of the art and storyline aspects of it. Thanks for the suggestion, and I may indeed make more backgrounds for the other titans. I'm lazy like that, too, and backgrounds are usually something secondary to me, and definitely something I need to work on."
Hey, melikes! Show these to the wizards of the coast... Hehe. What technique is this? And finally, a guy who is good at drawing girls! Petter Dahl replies: "I might let them know of my pics once I've finished them... not sure how they would take them, or if they would even care, but it might be interesting
I use Photoshop for all of these works - colors, shapes, shading, details. Thanks for the compliments "
Theres some really cool stuff you have here. The characters are done with real style. I wish I could do digital work like that! Petter Dahl replies: "Thanks for the kind words I consider myself very much in the learning curve of making digital art still, but practice makes perfect! (Hopefully)"
Awesome art!! I appreiciate the effort taken into fan art very much, you have real talent. From where do you base the likliness of the charachters from?
On another note, do you know how to make buddy icons? Mtg has a surprizingly little amount of them. Thanks!!
-Apprentice Petter Dahl replies: "I base my likeness from cards where the planeswalkers appear, or lacking that, information and graphics from the MTG novels. As for buddy icons, I assume it can't be much harder than making an image with certain properties. 50 x 50 pixles maybe? "
Awesome drawings Petter. You have becomed more skilled since the last time I saw your drawings, about 10 years or so. Long time no see. When do you come home anyway? Any chance for a meeting? E-mail me if you want, I would appreciate it=) By the way, how are you doing? The drawings are really fine.

It's been a good while, yeah, if not quite 10 years This is my last year in the US, so I will be around after May or so, if they don't ship me off to the navy (Pun unintended). Been good on a general basis. And yourself? Done with school maybe? I wish I was, sometimes. Anyway, I'll probably stop procrastinating and send you an email soon Talk to ya then!"
Allright... Perhaps not 10 years then, but sometimes it feels like it... Oh, you are back around May=) Sounds nice... Hmm, if the navy wants you, you'll probably will not be called in before June or September... Well, to say it like it is... I have not finished "school"... Straight after High School I attended to the University, so I'm not done for about 4 years or so...
