| 10 Nov 2004 | Anu Jalo | Wow, fantastic Star Wars -fan art! Great job on the pilots and the TIE on the background, there are so much amazing details. Good job Panu! Panu Hakkarainen replies: " Thanks again Anu! So we both are also Star Wars fans! I too am satisfied about the TIE. It came out far better than I imagined. In this picture I also tried to use white lines in black background (the helmets) and that is something I have not earlier done. Still need some practice though. Anyhow, now I am going to pay a visit to your gallery because I know your pictures are worth to watch. " | |
| 13 Jan 2005 | jennineci | *sniffs* Excuse me. I was just now morning the deaths of all the TIE pilots I've killed in my lifetime. (on video games of corse) Panu Hakkarainen replies: " Well, I have done my fair share in that area too but I think that I have "served" Empire better as I have annihilated rebel alliance quite a few times in TIE Fighter. Oh those golden memories... " | |
| 18 Apr 2005 | Chris | I think that the whole drawing is great I must comment that that tie in the background is brilliant. Wow, I can't stop looking at it. Well done! | |
| 9 May 2005 | Ryan M. Martin | oh sweet! another TIE Fighter fan. i love that game. TIE Defenders rule. but i really like this one. i always wondered what it must feel like to a TIE pilot. here you are in some loud, unshielded craft fighting rebels with better ships for some reason...who would be able to do that? as for your pilots though, i cant help but think they look a little out of proportion. all in all, this piece is tremendously cool. you can even see the shading on the individual honeycombing patterns on the wing foils. keep up the good work! | |
| 7 Nov 2005 | Milla Impola | I love the idea of this picture. All the time and in almost all the movies the "bad guys" are just faceless people who can be killed without having to worry about it. And besides the idea, you've also doen great job with the detailed background and all. Panu Hakkarainen replies: "Glad you liked the picture. And nice to see you visit here. A have just that idea in my mind when I did this picture. I have always felt sympathy for those ordinary men and women who have only done their duty for the empire. The same applies to any other your average "bad guys". " | |
| 15 Feb 2006 | CyberKat | This is really great! I love Star Wars (except Episode 3 which sucked!) and it is really cool to see a picture with friendly "Imperials next door." I especially like that you have a female TIE pilot. =) Also, great art! | |
| 11 Nov 2006 | Ashley | i really like that fact that you have portrayed them as 'real people', and you have a woman in there. in the movies we found out that the stormtroopers were all clones of that one dude, but nobody really mentioned the TIE fighters. this is definatly a good representation of the diverse human population of the empire. Panu Hakkarainen replies: "Hi Ashley! Glad you liked the picture. I have always considered all imperials as real people, even after the revelation of clone troopers in the new movies. In the old movies it is clearly shown that atleast all imperial officers are individuals. And where do you pick up your officers? Well of course from the ranks of the troopers. So my conclusion is that even stormtroopers are not all clones. End of rant! " | |
| 6 Jan 2007 | Lindsay M. Napier | I love star wars to and the drawing is good but there are no female officers in the Imperial forces. The Emperor was sexist and wouldn't allow that. The only females I know of are Admiral Daala and Mara Jade and these were exceptions to the rule. Good detail on the pic though. Panu Hakkarainen replies: "Hi Lindsay! Glad that you dropped in. Yes you are right about that there are no female imperial officers in the canon SW saga (the movies). However there are known non-canon exceptions. You mentioned Admiral Daala and Mara Jade. I also remember that there were four other female officers in the old Marvel SW comics. Captain Traal, Captain Plikh, an un-named female lieutenant and Shira Brie (imperial spy who had a rank of Major)Also Ysanne Isard, (Director of Imperial Intelligence)can be counted as an imperial officer. So even if the female imperial officers are rare they do exist in SW universe. Now are they canon or not... that can be debated. " | |
| 4 Apr 2007 | Meforever | I love this cos i a big star wars fan myself...Really good but aren't all the stormtroopers an pilots clones? Panu Hakkarainen replies: "Thanks for your comment. What comes to the question are all stormtroopers and TIE pilots clones, I explained my viewpoint to Ashley just two comments up. But that is just my opinion." | |
| 10 Feb 2008 | Imperialgirl | Ok, Waaay late, but http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cive_Rashon Canon female Tie Pilot Panu Hakkarainen replies: "Allways something new to learn..." | |
