FanArt: Moony - a portrait

This image of Moony, Remus Lupin's wolf counterpart is my favourite of the wolf images I've done thusfar. Of course right now there's only one other wolf pic up here, but there's plenty of others that simply aren't good enough! I drew this with four jumbo crayola crayons, blue, brown, black & one glow in the dark one for his eye. Admittedly the effect was lost in the scan but I did apply a small glow effect in Photoshop. In photoshop I ended up using the 'cut-out' effect which I'm fond of :) You can pat him btw - he's had all his wolfsbane this month!

It's Moony! I love him! Especially the way you colored it, his ears and the black spot... It's cuuute!!

13 Ruth Emma Latchford replies: "Well I had a good reference pic to start with, although I changed enough to give it more character, but basically that's where the colour scheme came from. Thanks for commenting! *hands you packet of jelly worms*"

MOONY!! WOOT! Have more jelly babies! Your pictures rule, especially the ones of REMUS! I am LUVIN the eye here, it makes him look more...abnormal, more un-normal-wolfish-like, if I'm making any sense...anyways, enjoy Jelly Babies, and draw more Remus!! *huggles large wolf

1 Ruth Emma Latchford replies: "  *chomps happily on jellybabies* Thankew indeed 2 I know exactly what you're driving at with the eye. I wanted him to look more supernatural & magical than a regular wolf & if you see that then...well I did the job Ok! I have an update in hand right now, with more Lupin pics so check back in a few days & hopefully my ticket will have come through!"

I think the way you drew him is sooo much better than how the did it in the third movie...

:-) Ruth Emma Latchford replies: "Yes, that particular set of effects really did divide fans I think. Personally I would've liked to see the more traditional looking werewolf, but I'm sure the film-makers had their reasons for moving away from that."

YEY!!!!!! Woofy form!
The eyes really add that extra something to the picture. He looks very regal and dare I say it... cute. The scratchy effect used for the pelt is tremendously effective. You must draw more!!!

I love Remus!!!
*Huggles da over-sized-royal woofy*
*Throws you a chocoloate bar and winks*
You Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Deserve it!

:-) Ruth Emma Latchford replies: "*wolfs down chocolate bar*Of course he's regal, he's a genuine Gryffindor wolf after all 12"
