anyway I'm now doing monumental size canvases in oil paint (they're 2 12X6 footers) and a number of works that are maybe 1/3 or half that size in a meticulously rendered style that encorporate themes from classical mythology that involve male beauty, homosexuality, sacrifice, and the bronze age kindof war which was like an athletic contest. Often this involves two figures...one a beautiful man with short hair hidden by some elaborate crested helmet, the other a dying figure of a beautiful man with long long hair and a beard...a dying warrior type. These I put in incredibly detailed fantastic lanscapes inspired by classical antiquity...marble temples...lions...exotic plants and trees. I'm also about to start a painting of a very boyish hermaphrodite. Anyhow, I guess your writing about effeminate boys and how you would like to draw them got me thinking, and as someone else in the arts concerned with male beauty I wish to see you progress. I just wanted to let you know. Eventually I plan to somehow bring my paintings to New York and set them up in front of the Museum of MOdern Art. So good look with school, and never give up on your art, at least for me it has become the most incredible experienc eof my life.
sincerely, with all respect,
DEVO

11 Rachel Hajducko replies: "Thank you for the comments and advice, I see you've done a lot with your life as far as art's concerned. I plan on becoming a graphic novelist, not as my "bread and butter" job but more of a hobby kind of job. I also plan on opening a website that offers my services in many areas of art, such as singing, drawing, painting, sculpting, writing, photography, web design, etc. So that might be a big thing for me. I still haven't decided on a college or university to go to, I've been looking but nothing really interests me. If you have any suggestions I'd be more than happy to take them! ^_^ Currently I will be attending a local Community college until I find a place I want to transfer to."

Don't ask me why I want to open up to you, but I guess its due to your responses and how I wish to encourage your taking the path of the artist seriously, because you should be thinking about it...it's a real good "trip". Please, if you find anything about this weird, and some people just aren't ready for some of things I say, it's not meant at all to be weird, or anything. I've no intentions except to amuse you and to be an honest person. I was just watching the new Yugio, because I've been a workaholic all week---(it's my summer vacation!) and my chance to relax and I didn't realize it, I guess, because I'm not a regular TV watcher, but all the biker boys are cute. The dude with red hair and grey eyes...well he reminds me of me in high school (I was total hunk), but he's a cartoon so he's more perfect than possible in the real world. (Now, at in my mid twenties, I resemble something like a gorgeous <I'm not too narcissistic either---laugh!> young Zeus---although strangely although I have long hair, and a full manly beard that's long yet nicely trimmed, 6'2" and have big blocky muscles, I'm still so femme I could wearlipstick (strange, hunh...no wonder I'm an artist). Anyway about 3 years ago I wanted to become a pro at paintig and i would draw things all patterned because I was inspired by anime...yet then I realized there was more and I tried copying photo's etc which I still use as refs sometimes. Eventually I decided that in order to give my forms more presence as real objects I turned to sculpture for inspiration. But while the surface decoration was broken, and hence it became something more than illustration...(explaining what I think @ illustration vs. so called "fine" art could be the topic of an entire message). Finally, during my first term at a certain "notorious" art school with the help of a teacher who I have a good relationship with, I was able to break my figures out of looking stiff, give them some "visual movement" as opposed to making them look like they are moving, and get them to articulate the space aroud them. It has changed my life.

Hey Rachel, just wanted to say that I love all of your artwork, keep doing a good job, they are beautifully drawn.

If you have read my comment on Yami Yugi, I said that I suspect someone stealing your artwork, and I think I just confirmed it. Check out fanart-central.net on the Yugioh fanart, if you go to Page. 8 of Marik, you will find geegee16 posting your Marik on hers.

I can tell she stole it because she's from Australia, you are from Florida, and her English is just horrible, whereas your English is flawless. She also said that she stopped posting YuGiOh pics because she wasn't a fan anymore right after you stopped. I checked her other "artwork", and they are a completely different style.

This makes me extremely mad and sad. I don't like art stealers or tracers or any of that kind of attention seeking slime. I apologize if this got you riled up, but wanted this to come to your attention.

I draw as well, but I dont post on the internet, and I would feel extremely cheated if someone took my work and made it their own, so I hope this geegee16 person is dealt with.

Anyways, wonderful artwork, it is yours only, keep on doing what you have been doing, good luck.

:-) Rachel Hajducko replies: "Thank you so much for pointing this out to me, I've taken care of it and emailed the proper authorities to have them banned. I won't stand for having my artwork stolen, I work hard to make it not to let it be stolen by someone too lazy to make their own work."
