FanArt: Fused
More fanart from games no one's heard of. This is from the Nippon Ichi title Soul Nomad and the World Eaters. Revya on left, Gig on right. Of course, given the game's nature, the player can choose between making Revya male or female. And the gamer can also choose the name, though Revya's the default name. And, in my opinion, a female hero for a video game is way cooler than another male 17 year old world-saving angst-bunny with a "strong sense of justice" (tm).
So what's the picture about? Well, quickly on in the game, Revya finds herself playing host to the disembodied god of war/Master of Death/Grim Reaper/whatever, Gig. He wants to eat her soul and take possession of her body. She (bizarrely) isn't comfortable with that plan, and must spend the next few months of her life utilizing Gig's power without losing her own soul. Depending on choices the player makes, their story pans out in several different ways.
As for the symbolism of this picture? You be the judge.
