I was wandering around In Barns and Noble a while ago and my eye caught on a calendar with the most amazing, beautiful pictures in it. By 'Alphonse Mucha' (don't ask me how to pronounce that.) That's what inspired this the most, though really it hardly holds a candle to Mucha's greatness *bows down to new Mucha shrine* This is in watercolor pencil too, with these little colored pens for outline. Unfortunately, I have developed this bad habit of just licking my brush instead of getting proper water, and am probably slowly poisoning myself... aw well. Just putting a bit of myself in my work, huh? I hate that sword, by the way. I wanted to make something a bit more elegant than the usual master sword, but it looks stupid. I wish I could get rid of it, but it's kind of too late was something's in pen. The picture was a little too big for the scanner, too, so I had to chose which end to cut off. I decided that I'd rather get all the the border on the side than have all of poor Link's boot. In the real picture, there's a whole foot there, plus several extra milimeters.

I saw the similarity to Mucha's work, and Art Nouveau in general, before I started reading the description...I love the way you used that style! The muted tones are beautiful, as well. Though why so many people feel the need to insult this picture, I have no idea.

Hey!.. i must say this is an amazing pic!.. everything is wonderful!.. though i might know why everyone is all gasp hate it!.. it might be because Link looks like a stuck up lil' English boy, and not a fighter at all.... See Link get down and dirty.. this guy looks to prim and proper to do that.. get what I mean..... he just kinda looks feminine in this pic.. and not like the Link we all know and love.. people can't accept change.. it ruins what they know and how they picture things, you know? well ya.. I'm kinda with the others .. I like the Link that we all know...but Im sure I will come around to the whole being of the pic.. don't get me wrong .. it is a nice picture..

I can't believe the judging people out there. they ACTUALLY think link's gay cuz he got a more luxurious clothing and look? it's the same thing as saying that a guy's gay cuz he's listening to country or something xD anyway, you've got great talents. this is with no doubt one of my fauvorites, and i've been searching this place for link-pics for a LONG time GJ!!
