FanArt: The Raiden Family

My main DBZ fan character is Arashiko, a Royal bodyguard and Saiyan Elite who served the Vegeta family for most of her life. The king took a special interest in her for her birth 'defect', which was being able to remain in a smaller form after having transformed into an Oozaru. She was a tool he could use to exterminate his enemies and she was groomed as such, taking on the secret mission to assassinate Frieza himself, the King's most hated and politically powerful enemy. Her first priority, survive the test of joining the Ginyu Force.

To find out more about Arashiko's story, read Child of the Storm.

Arashiko stands at the bottom saluting in the Elite style with one arm crossed diagonally over her chest. The amulet she wears, a perfect replica of the royal emblem of Vegeta, was given to her after she proved her loyalty to the king by stopping a would-be assassin (See the short story Die for Glory Live for Honor for more).

Behind her stands her brother Zorn, who was actually in the DBZ show for a very short scene (See a screenshot of Zorn). He served as the king's top advisor. I have my own fan interpretation of him in the works, but it's still in planning. Behind them are Arare and Raiden (my own creations). Not much is known about their parents. Their family hails from an eastern clan that was dominent in the area before the Vegeta settled the monarchy. The Raiden clan became his strongest soldiers and supporters, but many of the Raiden were killed in the warring period before the monarchy was able to solidify, and also during the war with the Tuffles. Effectively, Raiden, Arare, Arashiko, and Zorn are the last of their clan, one of their distinguishing traits being their blue eyes, a rather strange feature for a Saiyan to have.

The parents represent a much more cruel and primal civilization based on strength rather than the intracacies of the society imposed by the Vegeta in which their children, Zorn and Arashiko, grew up in. Thus, Raiden and Arare are not the loving parents they could hope for...but are rather a very cold pair who use their children for their strengths, while also manipulating them with their tendency to want them as 'loving parents'.

They're naming scheme is a bit different from the vegetable puns used for Saiyan. They follow the 'storm theme'.

Arashiko-'storm child' or 'child of the storm'
Zorn-play on 'storm'
Raiden-'lightening' or 'wind and rain'
Arare-'hail'
