FanArt: Urban Camouflage

The Daleks don't want to be caught by the Doctor. So taking a leaf out of the TARDIS's book, they've tried a bit of urban camouflage.

Originally going to be on Earth, but that cahnged when adding the decoration. The text on the bottle and can is the Lantian/Ancient script from the Stargate universe. It reads "Shelz Keast 08", well it does unless I've missed out any letters. Old style Dalek, based on those from the original series of Doctor Who. Quick sketch done in Macromedia Flash MX, great program for cartoons.

Can’t stop laughing at the ridiculous humor that is not the Daleks. I always thought they looked like trashcans. Once I did try to put some trash in a Dalek, but... just rofl.

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "You have to see the very first episode that the Daleks ever appear in (back with the original Doctor, William Hartnell). It looks like the set crew used a plunger. My brother and I cracked up laughing."

They actually did use a real toilet plunger for the sucker - and an eggbeater for the gun. Very handy about the house, these Daleks.

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "I thought as much, I’d almost forgotten about the eggbeater, thanks for reminding me. I think that’s what makes the old series so enjoyable, the creativity of the set and costume designers."
