FanArt: The Dark Knight

My favorite comic book character in the world: The Batman. Here, he is wielding a somewhat underrepresented weapon from his arsenal, the bolas. I set out, with this piece, to create what I thought a practical version of batman would look like. Note his cargo pockets and extra utility pouches. I also added that extra strap hanging down from his belt that holds all his throwing-star-style batarangs. The pic itself has gone through a long process of creation, but I think this is pretty much the final design. And my favorit part about it? Well, the boots are close, definately. I really wanted him to have a more rough, urban look here, so I gave him big ol' buckled boots. But my real favorite part about this version has to be his enourmous, horn-like ears which I have dubbed his 'giant ears of death.' And can you find his utility knife, two fighting knives and the handle of his grapling hook launcher?

This Batman rules! The only thing cooler would be if he were in an action pose (like introducing the bolas to Superman's face, perhaps). I think the 'Giant Ears of Death' even exceed the length of the ears from Batman Beyond. Keep up the good work, and Batman fans rock!

BTW is Dalga Raik referring to the Dark Knight Returns comic, in which Batman comes out of retirement out of ten years and ultimately faces off against Superman in the very spot where his parents were murdured? That comic is true art.
