People seem to be arguing a lot on the issue whether she's supposed to be pretty or not.. I think it's up to everyone's personal interpretation. Though, like you said, it definitely doesn't say in the book that she's ugly or anything! It slightly annoys me when people identify bushy hair with unprettyness (I happen to love bushy hair..) or that because she's "nerdy"(witty & into books) she can't be beautiful. In my mind I picture her beautiful, but in a down-to-earth and probably less obvious way - for instance, compare Ron's reaction to Hermione, versus his reaction to Fleur.. (ah well, Ron will eventually become a bit less clueless I believe too ..*ships r/hr*).
However, I have to admit that your Herm is slightly too "obvious-pretty" for me, but that's just a personal thing - I don't think you're wrong in any way. My overall reaction to the drawing was positive

First look at it, I thought it was way not-Hermione looking, but as I study it, I start see her, well a prettier version of her at least. lol
