FanArt: Hauru-Howl

This is the wizard Hauru or Howl whatever you like to call him. I saw the original Japanese version so I'm going to call him Hauru. He's from the movie "Hauru no ugoku shiro/Howl's moving castle". I really liked him, he's such a mysterious and good-looking character. Plus he's a real drama queen too, lol. ;) I decided to draw him with blonde hair which he has in the beginning of the movie. I think that’s the prettiest version of him. Apparently Hauru think so too, he really freaks out when his hair turns into black, haha. :) I haven't read the book by Diana Wynne Jones yet but I will soon. It was made with a wacom tablet in photoshop CS. I like this one too! I admit that he looks 'prettier' as a blond, but I kinda like him when he's all bird like with black hair... it looks more natural. I like the movie and have read the book, which is quite different from the movie, but still worth the read! Great job!

Woot! I love Howl so much! *first comment dance* You should really read the book. After seeing the movie, I was left full of admiration, but wondering how anyone figured out what the heck was going on without having previously read the book. You'll see Howl in a whole new light, I promise. Although his affliction is not quite so visual as it is in the movie, and neither is Sophie's, their characters are much more developed.

:-) Maria Sjöstrand replies: "Yes I heard that the movie and the book is pretty different and that it will explain things a bit better so I definitely need to read it! 2"

wooooow! he’s so hot. i wish that howl was my boyfriend instead of Sophie’s. Grrr.10. but the drawing is really nice. you did this using photoshop? i’m not good with fotoshop. but there is a book? how complicated is the book ’coz i heard it was more complex than the movie?

:-) Maria Sjöstrand replies: "Yes, I used Photoshop. I don’t think the book was very complicated, I’ve read way more heavy stuff. It was just like any average book really. "
