FanArt: Wielder of the Keyblade - colour

The coloured version of a pencil sketch of Sora from Kingdom Hearts II. The line art was made in Photshop using a Wacom tablet and it took forever! There just so many details on his costume. The line art actually took longer time for me to finish then the actual colouring which was made with traditional mediums. I used my Promarkers for everything except his hair were I used watercolours because I don’t like my brown markers, they are too red! And as usual the scanner ruined the picture, this looks much better in real life. Sora © Square-Enix, Disney

People telling you about your flaws just makes you a better artist remember that Maria Sjöstrand replies: "Thank you! I don't mind you saying but you didn't really say what is wrong with it. I would appreciate a bit more detailed explanation to what you think I should improve with his face. Constructive criticism is always good but it doesn’t help me if it just says something is wrong without telling me how to improve it."

OK I've given your pic A.L.O.T of thought the face for sora dosen't quite look the way you drew it. it looks a little thin Im sure you've noticed it but..oh well thats just my opinion it's good so don't get frustraited trying to fix it just because It I thought it was off a little the rest of the body is great so keep it up sorry for the trouble. Maria Sjöstrand replies: "Thanks for explaining, that makes much more sense. Yes he defiantly has a thinner face in this picture, he’s missing his normally sweet round cheeks. Although he is very cute with a round face I don’t mind if he doesn’t look exactly like the official Sora. I always try to draw fan art with a touch of my own style or else it feels like copying which is just boring."
