FanArt: Hehe... Rainbow Brite....

Yeah, I dislike Rainbow Brite. So for all of you Rainbow Brite die-hard fans (I know you're out there), I would like to include my reasons for dislike of the specified person, Rainbow Brite.
I'm sure that if I had been introduced in a more subtle manner than what actually happened, I would regard Rainbow Brite with the neutrality that I use upon other children cartoons, such as Blue's Clues or Scooby-Doo. Instead, my first experience was rather violent. I was forced to sit through two to three hours of the show (forced being used literally here) with a bunch of raving fangirls who sang along to the theme song EVERY SINGLE TIME. On top of that, they made the mistake of showing me the one episode that shows that the villian is merely misunderstood. Even though the writers of that particular episode begin it with bringing sympathy toward the villian for being prosecuted injustly, they end it with Rainbow Brite punishing the villian (his name escapes me for the moment). This is how you bring hate upon the VILLIAN, not the MAIN CHARACTER/GOOD GUY. I don't know what they were thinking, but now I severly dislike the whole series-as it is mainly about the unjust persecution of a misunderstood, if not innocent, man. And thus, I had a nightmare where I was trying to kill Rainbow Brite and her severed head turned toward me AND TALKED AND SHE WOULDN'T DIE AND IT WAS BAD.

WTF, over! If I ever meet you I will kick you square in the nuts, repeatedly, until you can no longer pollute the planet with your pessimistic attitude and cruelty. I am a grown man in the US Army. I've been to Iraq and back and my Rainbow Brite doll was right there with me. How dare you display this vulgar image of our beloved Rainbow.

14 Daniele L. Smith replies: "Awww, isn't that cute, the army-guy who likes a little girl's cartoon show wants to kick me in the testicles that I never had. Good luck with that."

YOU JERK!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe you did that! Do you have any idea how much a simple cartoon character can mean to someone? I am one of those people who almost never get mad, but let my tell you that I am OUTRAGED!!!!!!!!!!! This character of a simple t.v. show has help me more than anyone could ever understand. My grandma gave me a Rainbow Brite doll 10 years ago. She gave that doll to me a week before she died. You have no idea how much that doll AND that show means to me! So, next time you go drawing 'hate art' just remember that there are people around who love shows not only for what they teach people, but also for the experiances they have while watch the show or getting a doll. Oh, and by the way, when Rainbow was by Murkey (bad guy) she did not attack him, but attacked the machine he was using so he could make all color away. It was Murkey's mom who taught him his leason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 Daniele L. Smith replies: "It was an indirect attack that still hurt deep down. The issue was NEVER resolved-the mother just punished him further. I still hate Rainbow Brite. You had a good experience with Brite, I've had a bad one. Guess what? I don't care. Watch me not care! I'm sorry for your grandma, but if my mom had given me a Sailor Moon doll and then passed away, I wouldn't cry every time I see Sailor Moon being mutilated in a picture (quite a lot). I guess, what, that makes me better than you? Love what the doll stands for."

I'm a big Rainbow Brite fan and I find the picture halarious. Everyone has different veiws on things, and you have to take them with a grain of salt. To me, I've seen nice and violent pictures about all my favorite characters but it doesn't bother me, they're all done from the artists POV, and I respect that.
Anyways, art wise it's really good. Nice shading and good lineart. Needs something to show where the head os coming form though, looks like it's just floating in air. ^.^; Maybe her body sitting on the floor in the BG would be a nice touch. XD And yes, I'm a twisted person, I know. 14

I love the show Rainbow Brite. It is a fantastic cartoon compare to what they have on lately ::especially Lazy Town..omg..scary o_0:: But I love this drawing!!! Great work!!

BTW..not everyone hates the villains...my favorite character happens to be a villain named the dark princess..

and I think the cartoon person you are thinking of is Murky..

Anyways, lovely job.

Judge me not as I have drawn in the past, but rather, as I draw now.

*giggles insanely* I love all the comments here. They're either really supportive and great or just hilariously funny to read. *wriggles like a gopher* It makes me feel all fuzzy on the inside. But anywho, yeah, I draw better now... Still not good, but better. Aaaaand ignorance is just a button click away, for those who are truly offended to the point of hunting me down and... kicking me in the balls. *laughs and falls off of her chair* Okay, luvs ya all, and goodnight!

OMG *busts out laughing* That is so great! I mean don't get me wrong, I grew up and Rainbow Brite, and I liked her and everything, I even drew a picture of her in my Fan-Quarters, and I still have my Baby Brite doll.
But that is a funny dream! I once had one where my ALF stuffed animal came to life and tried to kill me. So I see where your coming from. As for the drawing itself, I love your anime quality of the character and the facial expression. For an image used to express your dream I think you did rather well. And it's good to hear that you are willing to push your own art skills farther to learn more, keep up the good work, you've got great talent!
*looks at the picture again, laughs and shakes her head*
I also find it funny that all these die-hard RB fans only come out to post on images that "degrade" (please excuse the term) their favorite cartoon...

I saw your picture, and even though I'm a die-hard RB fan, I laughed SO hard! I've had similar dreams involving Thundercats. And I'm sorry you're being attacked by fans-- it's all in good fun. I think that it's really enjoyable, and I like how you drew yourself. No artist, but I like the piccy.
