Because I still suck at titles...wanna suggest a new one? :oP Anyway, it's Ren from Pirates of Dark Water, sitting on a bench. It's a pencil sketch I did while taking a break from Physics homework not too long ago--I love how I'll start a random sketch and it'll turn out to be better than most of the art I sit down to make myself do. :o) This is also the style I'm hoping to direct my art towards...it's more real and less animated than my current style.
Done in pencil, with minor editing by Adobe Photoshop.
*'Frist Comment' dances over to Ren and slides in next to him, death grip hugging his arm* ^__^ he looks a little older here, but a hot as ever!! *tries to think of a new title for you, but her brain refuses to work* sorry, can't think of a new title for ya. *shrugs and hugs Ren's arm tighter, cutting off most of the blood flow tohis arm**can just imagine the bewildered look on Ren's face* Hehehe. ;o) That's okay; I think I'll just leave the title as is for now, anyway. Thanks!
I like this one, too - it looks as if he just sat down, or is rising...Yeah, upon looking back, that's what it looks like to me, too. Action-sketch, whee! ;o)

I remember this show! I loved it! Another thing I love is your sketchy style here- there is a likeness that brings back memories and an originality that has me intrigued. We can see screen shots to see the character hisself- but i love that you drew him on your own.Thank you! I always love to see other people's fanart specifically for that reason--seeing other people's renditions really helps to shed a more personal light on the character(s) in question, and shows you some insight into facets of the character that you might not have even noticed or thought of.
Wow!This is great!He looks older but just as handsome.Great job!Oh, wow, okay--I didn't even really think of him as older, just more polished, or with a more "chiseled" face or something. That's kind of neat...thanks! )
Okay, well, I know I'm rare here. I've never heard of this PoDW show, never read it, seen it, nuthin. But it sounds really cool, I'm almost inspired to go check it out! I like magic and stuff like that and...talking to trees and stuff, wow! And this Ren guy, he's really hot, yep, no doubt about it. You did a great job on this! Excellent anatomy, all in proportion, and gosh, do you know how hard it is to draw a face at that perspective?! I like his nose, for some weird reason, because it's prominent sorta and at that perspective of this face it's just...noticable. Interesting clothes he wears, too! You know, as for the title, it is simple, but it does say what he's doing. Maybe he's waiting for some though, because with his hands like that I just have the feeling he had them rested but is now on the verge of getting up to greet someone he was waiting for. So maybe a new title could be...gosh, I dunno, lol, sorry! I still can't think of a great name. Well, the name the pic has now is good enough. Anyway, overall this pic is just fabulous! Incredible pencil work here. I love it. ^___^ **Thumbs WAY up, cheers, applause, encore, and many 10+s! **Thanks! ) PoDW was never extremely well-known; it's from 1991-1992, and one of Hanna-Barbera's best (and most short-lived) series. Ren's the main character, a prince whose heritage was kept secret from him because there were people who'd have killed him if they knew who he was. At the start of the show he was 17. Maybe this is him a little older...I have a tendency to give guys' faces a more "chiseled" appearance in my sketches, so I took out the more boyish curves to his profile that he had in the show itself. (I also made him a little less jock-muscular. ;o) ) Send me an IM sometime if you've got AIM; I've got most of the episodes in video format and would be happy to start you off with the first few. (I've gotten plenty of people hooked on this show. *grin*)
I love you O^O!! And I love this picture. I thought me and my sister were the only ones that did fanart of Dark Water! XD You gotta post more pictures of it. ;}
