FanArt: Cast Me Gently Into Morning

Series: Fullmetal Alchemist
Characters: Edward and Alphonse Elric

'Cast me gently into morning,
For the night has been unkind.'

--- Sarah McLaughlin, 'Answer'

Zanne Chaos (Elfwood Artist Suzanne Kraus) pointed me to that song as a good song for Ed and Al last winter. I ended up getting the CD for my birthday, and just really liked it. And was struck by this picture idea.

Ed and Al, the morning after the night when they tried to resurrect their mother via alchemy. I hope the shading on the blanket shows up well -- I actually had to put some thought into that, to show off Ed's injuries. Yeah, this is pre-automail. I also don't think Al's armor is quite right. And Ed looks too old -- he's only 11. I knw, pick, pick pick. I do like the shading, and the background.
