FanArt: The last unicorn

I really love the movie 'the last unicorn', it's one of the prettiest fairy tales ever created for children. one night, listening to 'in the sea' over and over again (picture of it posted on my fantasy gallery, if you're interested;-) ) i did this one, too. the last unicorn, with its prettiest eyes, and the last unicorn als lady amalthea.

i'm quite happy with the unicorn, but lady amalthea doesn't really look like her... hmmm... next time i hope:)

Its a nice atempt on an awsome movie the girl could use a little more work though the eye's a little to big

2 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "thanks for your comment2! yeah, that's what i had written on my text - i'm not happy with her, she just doesn't really look like lady amalthea - but oh well... loads of other things i'd do better, also the background, but i'm ok with it for a first try...2!"

It's been so long since I've seen the movie that I can't really compare your version with the original style, but it's very beautiful picture anyway. The colors you chose make it look so innocent.

2 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "thanks girl2!!! yeah, the colours i've used where based on the colours i remembered from the movie, from lady amaltheas dress ans such... ahhhhh, what an awesome movie...2!!!"

I haven't seen the movie in along time, but the minute i saw this, i knew it was from The Last Unicorn movie.Everything looks good to me,perfect to me,that is!And are u(Stephanie) a witch? Cuz i saw the pic of urself and u just reminded me of a witch, probably cuz of the clothing. And i'm serious about this,i'm a witch. i got herbs, books,a hat, a broom, mortar and pestle, almost everything!I'm serious, cross my heart hope to die.Swear to GOD,scouts honor, thats sort of stuff. Its cool!

12 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "hi there2 aaaah, that's a nice one - well if you recognized it then it isn't THAT bad i guess2 thanks2!!! and to answer your question: hm, i'm no real witch, but i hang around with them...;-), so that might answer stuff about clothing & co...2 thanks for the comment girl2!"

I love that movie. I drew my own picture of the Last Unicorn, but I messed up while scanning and had a corner of the paper bent back revealing some white, so Elfwood would not accept it. I ought to fix it and try again, it was a good picture. ANyway, I like your pic, especially the pale delicate colors. The unicorn is pretty, but I think Lady Amalthea is too pale. I guess that's the way she was in the movie.

2 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "oh, really? you'll have to tell me when it's up on your page, i really wonder2!!! nah, that's how lady amalthea really is in the movie - when i was a kid i thought she was all white...2!!!"

Very nice- though Amalthea could use a little work. I like the pose though. That movie was one of my favorites growing up as well, and when I found it was based on a novel by Peter Beagle, I had to read it. The book is even better than the movie. (I also believe they are making another movie of it!)
Well anyway, good work.

11 Stephanie S. K. Marbach replies: "thanks anonymous visitor2! yeah i know, i'm really not too happy with her because she just looks different in the childrens movie... yeah i know, i am planning on getting that book, i'll just have to figure out where since i want to read it in english... and you're right - there will be a movie of it comming out in 20062! but i'm almost a bit afraid of watching it since the anime one was just too gorgeous and i have the feeling i could be disappointed by it... but thanks a lot for your comment2!"
