FanArt: Live Long and Prosper

This is a simple composition inspired by the Vulcan hand gesture for peace and long life from the "Star Trek" genre.

I took a photo of my own hand and manipulated it. The background is from a photo taken by the Hubble Telescope called the "Monocerotis Light Echo". I chose that image for the background because it reminded me of the Star Trek symbol for the Federation.

The background Hubble photo is public domain and free to use for artists. You can see the original here: http://heritage.stsci.edu/2004/10/index.html

Love that 3-D effect. Live long and prosper.

1 Steven P. Love replies: "Believe it or not no 3D program was used, just some photo manipulation and a little digital painting. Thanks for commenting."

Beautiful. Great concept.

1 Steven P. Love replies: "I originally created this for a contest over at Anneke Hut's Garden Super Art Duels. The contest, called "Peace" just started today and runs to the end of August. If you think my picture is good you can vote for it here: http://www.broenink-art.nl/duel/new.html Thanks for commenting."
