FanArt: Goddess

'Long ago there was a fisherman. One day as he passed by the seashore, he saw several beautiful Tennyo (angels/goddesses) bathing. He saw beautiful robes next to him which were the finest he had ever seen. He greedily took one of them and went home. The Tennyo whose gossamer robe was taken by the fisherman couldn't go back to Heaven. She went to the fisherman's home and pleaded for her gossamer robe, but the fisherman pretended that he knew nothing. Tennyo soon married the fisherman, and gave birth to a child. Many years after, Tennyo finally knew where the fisherman hide her gossamer robe by hearing a song that her child sang. Tennyo took back her gossamer robe and went back to Heaven. Leaving behind her husband. Leaving behind her child...'

I've no idea who this girl is, but I'm just so blown away at your skill! It's such a perfect anime picture. The manga eyes, the shiny hair, the mouth...damn I'm jealous.

I agree it is perfect but the story is old ^-^ wasn't it in some stories she killed her child?

Notice how that story is just like the selkie story? Identical infact, except she returns to the sea, not to heaven, lovely pic btw

Very pretty... That story reminds me of that movie "Return to Rone-Innish", or whatever it was called, where they told the little girl about how her grandfather found a selkie and married her, had many children. He took the skin she had as a seal and hid it in his home, and she found it one day. As they said in the movie, "When a selkie finds her skin, neither chains of steel nor chains of love can keep her from returning to the sea..."

It's so cool how you have the colors flow together. I can't believe that you actually did this on computer. Awesome job.

You know, this story is a lot like those seals, who used to take off their coats and dance every black moon ( I think..) Then one man stole one of the coats, meaning that the young seal could never return to the sea, yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah, you know the ending. a LOT like your version. Which is why i like it so much
