Cleaning Scans In Photoshop (Page 2 of 3)
By Alanna (Solenna) Elias
Next, we will remove the lines. This is my favorite step because pictures look SO much better without stupid lines running through them. So we go up top to Image, then down to Adjustments, then finally to Hue/Saturation. Or you just hit Ctrl-U. Whichever.

Once you do that, this box will appear. This box is your friend. You can move the slidy bars and make pictures lighter or darker or brighter or different colours entirely but that's not what we're going to do right now. Even though it's fun.

What we WILL do though, is go to the box up top that says Master, and change it to Cyan. This means that only cyan (a greenish blue colour) coloured things in the picture will be affected.

So once it's turned to Cyan, take the slider bar under Lightness, and crank it up to 100. See how the lines start to go away? Change the box up top from Cyan to Blue, and that should almost totally get rid of them. Change it Magenta or Green if you really need to.

There we go. Now the lines are almost completely gone, and this picture would still probably get rejected. It's still smudged and pale and you can still see faint line remnants. Lets get rid of those shall we?
