The Elfwood Comment Boards, Message Boards and Forums.
  1. By participating in any of the above services, the Member agrees not to include any electronic mail or postings ("Postings") that contain any of the following material in Elfwood Comment Boards, Message Boards or Forum:
    • Material that defames abuses or threatens others.
    • Statements that is bigoted, hateful or racially offensive.
    • Material that advocates illegal activity.
    • Material that contains obscene content.
    • Advertising or any form of commercial solicitation *.
    • Any form of spam or mass posting/mass commenting.

      * As for Elfwood members promoting their own artwork featured in their gallery is NOT viewed as advertising.

    Please note a user account can/will be immediately suspended if any of these rules are violated.

  2. It is obvious, but keep to the topic! There is an off topic section where choice of discussions are more open as long as it keeps to forum rules.

  3. Elfwood reserves the right to edit, delete, or move any Postings.

  4. Please respect each other and choose your words wisely. Each user has their own point of view, and these views must be respected. If you have a problem with another user or if you dislike a thread or post and are able to show that it violates a rule, use the "Report this pots button. Our moderators tend to reported posts as soon as possible.

  5. All comments and criticism shall be worded in a constructive and respectful manner. Criticism which serves no purpose other than to flame or insult will be deleted and your account possibly suspended.

  6. All should be written in English. An occasional "Hello" or "How are you?" in Swedish German, Magyar or any other language is however permitted.

  7. Do not post a message on how you find a topic or user irrelevant, boring, childish or stupid.

  8. Do not provoke other users or incite trouble.

  9. Should a user antagonize, slander or intimidate you, DO NOT retaliate. Bring this to our attention by reporting that post.

  10. If you have something to say, please do so; however, if you are presenting this information as factual information, be sure to mention your sources. We would like to avoid arguments based on misinformation or rumors.

  11. Please respect Elfwood crew members. The keeping everything running smoothly is a big task that is not at all times pleasant and often goes without thanks. Please remember that forum moderators cannot be everywhere at all times.

  12. Please be advised that abusive or obnoxious emails or posts will be ignored or deleted and your account may be suspended.

  13. Copyrighted material from other websites, newspapers, magazines and journals are not allowed to be posted. You are permitted to post a summary of an article or a long quote (but not the full article) and a link to the full story. Violations of this policy will result in the deletion of your post or thread.

  14. You are responsible for the security of your password. Excuses for unauthorized posts such as "someone has discovered my password" or "I left my PC with it still logged on to a.net and someone used it" will not be accepted.

  15. Your Elwood.com membership is private. It is for you only and you may not share your username and password with anyone else.

  16. We reserve the right to cancel your membership and forum username without prior notice if you violate the rules or cause harm in any way to Elfwood.com. Under no circumstances will that entitle you to any form of refund for subscription fees you might have paid.

  17. If we have something to tell you regarding these forums or if any of your posts has been deleted, you will receive notification by email. Please ensure that your user profile contains your most current email address. Should your user profile contain an invalid email address, your account will be suspended until you contact us with a valid one.

  18. Do not post advertisements for websites, chain letters, pyramid schemes, virus warnings or other solicitations you may however post a link to a website that is of high relevance to a certain discussion, but be aware: if it looks anything like an ad then it will be deleted.

  19. Please post in the correct forum. Do not be offended if a moderator decides that your thread is more suitable to another forum and moves it there.

  20. Never post the same topic in more than one forum.

  21. Always check past topics to be sure that the topic you are about to start hasn't already been posted. You can do this with a simple forum search using the relevant keywords. If your topic has already been posted and you'd like to add to the discussion, please do so under the existing topic.

  22. PLEASE do not start a new thread on the same topic UNLESS the prior one has been LOCKED

  23. We frown upon frequent 'bumping' of threads back to the top to elicit a response. Where this occurs the thread might be locked or even deleted.

  24. Please use the most relevant and descriptive heading for your topics.

  25. If you'd like to send a personal message to another user, including the forum moderators, do not post it in the forums. Please use that persons message board found in that users Elfwood user profile, or the email contact form provided in their profile. Any abuse of the messaging or contact forms features may result in suspension.

  26. Please spend some time to make your posts interesting and easy to understand. Messages of agreement such as "me too" or "I agree with X" have been found to waste time and are therefore to be avoided. You must be 13 years of age or older to participate on Elfwood.com. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, Elfwood.com no longer accepts membership application from users under this age.

  27. If you are under the age of 13, then you need parental permission in order to become a member. Please note that this website is not primarily intended for the use of minors and that profane language can sometimes be found.

  28. If your post or thread has been deleted, please do not view this as a personal attack against you by the forum moderators. If you believe there was an error, please send us an email in order to bring it to our attention. Do not repost without first obtaining the agreement of the moderators otherwise suspension will follow.

  29. If you've been suspended, then you are not permitted to post via another member. If it is found that this rule has been breached, you may have your suspension extended or be permanently banned. In addition, whoever posted on your behalf may also face suspension.

  30. We reserve the right to delete, without explanation and entirely at our discretion, any post, thread or user for any or no reason.

  31. Posts containing information on how to carry out an illegal act will be deleted.

  32. The messages in this discussion forum express the views of their author and not necessarily that of Elfwood.com or any associated entity. You remain solely responsible for everything you post, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Elfwood.com and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).
