My name is Brian Buckley, and I'm a 22-year-old programmer working for Marathon Petroleum. I've been writing ever since I was little. My favorite book is The Lord of the Rings, but I also like Ender's Game, The Stand, the Foundation series and the Wheel of Time series, among many others. When I write prose, it's mostly science fiction or fantasy; my poems are about anything and everything.

By the way, I know I have been uploading pretty infrequently lately. This is partly due to laziness, but also because I find myself writing more and more that does not fit into the Elfwood genre requirements. If you want to see a lot of my more recent stuff, take a look at my DeviantArt page.

Newest works: I have been coerced, by a certain other author who shall remain nameless, to produce five new submissions for Elfwood; so, on pain of death and perhaps also mockery, here they are:

The Bard to His Love, at Length - Poem, fantasy, humor.
Field Guide to Fantasy Creatures - Prose, fantasy, humor.
    Austromenock - Poem, fantasy, semi-serious.
Descending Vectors - Poem (sonnet), science fiction, serious.
    Two-thirds - Poem (free-form), fantasy, serious.

Also, if you get a chance, take a look at Alyssa R George's page. She is without a doubt the best writer I've found in Wyvern's Library since joining Elfwood.

Finally, leave comments! If you loved something or hated something, let me know! Be critical! Be harsh! If you see a mistake, tell me - there's no such thing as 'too picky.' Reader feedback is half the reason I write!

Hey, I just read Atlantis. Very classical. 2 I'll undoubtedly go check out your other work soon.
I saw you are a fan of good critiques, so I thought to invite you to join a group I belong to (pardon if this is a repeat invite. I do get confused. ) I've gotten nothing but great advice from them, a bunch of cool, laid back writers.
    Check us out!

Hi there! I loved your "Night of music" and now I want to read more but you have so much to read! Where should I begin? You seem to have loads of ideas and like to provocate so I think I'll be hanging around for a while.
If you have any story in particular you want me to read, tell me. And are you up for a constructive criticism exchange I would love to be of service.

Amazing stuff. Poetry isn’t really my style but I think you have converted me. You seem like one of the better writers on Elfwood and I would like to see your opinions on how I could improve my writing style. I like the topics you touch on, they have really opened me up to possibly writing different. Keep on writing!!!

Hi, I love your field guide. I was wondering if you would take a look at one of my writings, the Local Legends transcript, and tell me what you think.

    Thanks,
