SciFi and Fantasy Art: Anita, fly for me!

Nathaniel, Anita, and Micah from Laurell K Hamilton's series of vampire hunter novels. Anita shares storytime with her Nimir-Raj (were-leopard king) and her pomme de sang (apple of blood). One of her few fond memories, mostly because Nathaniel has never heard these stories before and they absolutely delight him.

One thing about were-leopards: they love physical contact. It makes them feel secure and connected with each other. LKH often mentions how they love to sleep in a sprawly "puppy pile" even in human form. I wanted to convey this drapey comeraderie in the picture.

Absolutely astounding. ^_^ You've got the proportions down so well! Are you planning to colour it too? It would definitely be worthwhile! I love the playfulness of this drawing. *hugs*

:-) Amy Phoenix Clark replies: "Thanks ! I've got base colors on my computer, but I'm not sure if I'll finish this up..."

I really like you idea here. Nathaniel is so much like a cat in this picture, you can almost hear him purr. Micah is just lovely and really close to what I imagined him to look like. I love the little bit of Nathaniel's braid showing. I have to admit I really love the way you conveyed Anita, she's perfect! And of course, Sigmund is there too, long live her stuffed penguin!

I fell in absolute bibliophile love with the Anita Blake series. I got to meet Laurel K. when "Danse Macabre" came out. She's so cool! Sorry, I gushed.

:-) Amy Phoenix Clark replies: "Wonderful! 1 I'd loved to have met her, myself"

Flippin wow. What I really like about this photo is you manage to capture Micah's self confidence and Nathnaiel's childlike need. Bravo!

Hey, I was wondering:

My friend reeeeally likes this picture and was hoping I could color it for her. I wasn't planning on putting it on any sites or anything, just for her, and my (I need the practice) benifit.

Thankies! *gives cheese*

:-) Amy Phoenix Clark replies: "Definitely! I'd be flattered 2"
