'As Eleni looked around, her eyes rested apon a small figure on the shoreline. She approached it, and saw that it was a woman, her cloud of raven black hair swept away from her face by the salty air, a look of complete calm on her face. Eleni sat beside her, and the woman smiled at her' The first published extract from the book - this is when Eleni met Sirene.
