SciFi and Fantasy Art: So Long Ago, So Clear

This picture is really not a 'for critique' picture. I know I didn't do good on the eyes or wings so you don't have to tell me that. Just enjoy the picture for what it is. This picture is a memorial picture for my cat, Patches, who died a few days ago. This is my interpretation of how she would look as a human. The poem, writen next to and above her, is the words to the song, So Long Ago, So Clear. It is part of Heaven and Hell, Part 1 by Vangelis and can be found on Napster if some of you are curious as to what it sounds like. And I'd also like to say that the album, Heaven and Hell, inspired me to create this picture and not only that, but Patches liked that music very much. This picture is for all the dead pets and humans that still live on in our hearts. I wish I could give you my whole speech about Patches, but that would take way too much time. I'll just say that she was a wonderful cat whose life was tragically short. I hope all of you with pets will remember to tell them that you love them as much as you can. Please, do it for Patches. I'll miss her very much, but at least she knew I loved her. May she rest in peace.

I actually picked up my cats and made them look at the monitor so they could share in the mourning as well. I have three. One of my cats died in early October, and it felt weird without her. I loved putting lyrics in the picture--I love all pictures with lyrics usually, but this one is special in some ways.*The Artist* Thanks for coming by to look at it.

Hey Laura. Good Job!! I Know it wasnt' posted for the artwork, but the poem/pic. was cool with the idea of Patches' memorial. I know it isn't easy leaving a pet. I had to leave 6 sweet cats behind when I moved here from Alabama. Well, E-mail me soon!*The Artist* I plan too.

What a wonderful tribute to both Patches, who obviously loved her mistress & understood her, and to you, for creating such a lovely work! I have one human son, who is my life, but I also have 5 feline children, and I love them as truly as a person can love an animal. When my son is grown & gone on to his own life, I will still always have my feline children. They always love unconditionally, and fiercely. I am theirs, and they are mine. I don't date people who do not like cats, that's how important they are to me. So I understand your loss, believe me. This is a beautiful tribute, Laura.
