SciFi and Fantasy Art: Signs of ChaosOkay, just so you know, this isn't a drawing. These are two pieces of cast silver dropped on the scanner (yep, I work in silver sometimes) and backed with a tshirt; the one on the chain is fine silver and is usually around my neck. The other is sterling and was recently sold. And the design is the sign of Chaos as described in Moorcock's Elric Saga. Something a little different today.
| | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 2 Jun 2001 | Hilari | I like your work very much, have you ever done slave-chain bracelets? (They may be known under a different name, that is the only one that I have ever known them as however.) The ability to create things like this is one of the greatest gifts that God has given us.I had intended to make a slave bracelet in the same period this was constructed, however, the materials didn't arrive in time. And lately, i've been doing pendants, as that's what I wear and what I enjoy producing most. | |
| 3 Jun 2001 | Danielle Williams | Nifty design, and the way you photographed the chain there looks really dynamic (weird thing, no?...but it's true!)Well, it's not really a photo, but thanks. ^_^ | |
| 3 Jun 2001 | Anonymous | beautiful if you do make more of these i want to buy at least one of them they rockTo this and the one above, and anyone else interested, there's been a lot of comments on wanting to buy these, so I will probably produce a few to sell in coming months. If you're interested, and I mean seriously interested, email me and let me know, and I can probably get you one. ^_^ | |
| 3 Jun 2001 | Vargen Mina <VargenMina@Ant...com> | I used to own a chaos star.. But my brother took it and sold it... But this is the most beautiful chaos stars i've seen! Especially the one on the chain. Very original. Be sure to tell me if you are going to sell more of these! | |

Allison Leigh Cassel replies: "Pewter copies are $25 starting price; I hope to be listing them on online auction sites by the end of the month. | 18 Apr 2002 | Mikko S. Anttonen | Great looking stuff.. You use some kind of casting method? I also make jewelry items from silver and bronze etc. Allison Leigh Cassel replies: "Yep, these pieces were done in a gravity-casting method, from a carved plaster mold. Someday *crosses fingers* I hope to get the centrifuge-casted pieces uploaded here, I'm quite fond of some of them, even if I don't wear them..."
| 29 Jul 2002 | Natalie Touretsky (Gerie Aren) | Absolutely wonderful!!! They look ancient on the scan It was nice idea and scan turned good too. (I often scan my beadwork and I know it's hard to get a good skan of 3D object, even flat one )) Allison Leigh Cassel replies: "They actually look ancient in person, too... well, at least the one on the chain does, I haven't seen the other in a couple years. But because of the way they tarnish a bit, and the shape overall, they look kinda like something pried off an ancient book. Least, that's what I thought when I finished off the first casting." | |
