SciFi and Fantasy Art: Christmas in New London

I was inspired to do a Christmas pic with Gabriel and his family, but his kind doesn't celebrate Christmas. But Gabriel does, because he was raised human. So here's the little family at his parents' home in the fictional city of New London, kinda a snapshot thing they would have taken. Such a happy Christmas for everyone! (Except Macavity... *g* Don't think she likes being held like that!) I wish the background weren't so rough, but it's because of the compression, this is the best I can get it. Merry Christmas! ;)

She sure told you, guy >5 THIS PIC ROCKS!! I love it. The colours are so rich and warm, that you just want to wrap them around you and sigh in contentement 2 Scary gabby..it reminds me of elfquest ,5 I think it's the face Gabe is making. Reminds me of cutter!! ^_^Gabe reminds more than just you of Cutter, for some reason. Some days, he even reminds me! And I've hardly read ElfQuest! O.o

The kids look like shrunken adults. Children have different proportions than grown people do. You may want to look into this. Now I know it says to let people have their say, but this is just wrong on a couple points. One, these aren't humans and should not be judged by human standards. Two, these two are modeled on a real child I used to babysit for. Three, the proportions of the children don't match the adults in the picture. If you're looking for "baby fat" or something, try another artist, you won't find it in this race. They're all thin. It's genetic, and a matter of survival for them.

Great pick, but the robes on the guy seem a bit....Fruity. No offence or anything.

:-) Allison Leigh Cassel replies: "He's a mage, he's supposed to wear fruity robes. ^^"

What race are they? Elves? It's very cute, I can't imagine a culture that doesn't celebrate Christmas, it is my favorite holiday. The tree with the angel of top is pretty, the kids look so happy, I like the robes the parents are wearing.
