SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Obsidian Longsword, 'Coldfire'

This was another something that was drawn for the world of Aldona. It's the magical longsword held by the Naga kingdom. Legend has it that a great Naga hero once wielded it in battle to free the Naga people from slavery. Its blade is a solid length of obsidian, along which flicker blue flames. They are so cold that they burn whatever touches them. (Like the irony there? Sure, sure, it's cliche.) Hence, the sword's name: Coldfire. Sketched, then colored with Crayola colored pencils.

Being a sword-drawer myself I would have to say this is one of my favorites, although the cold flame looks kinda like on of those feather thingies that goes around your neck. maybe have it sort of coming out of the hilst guard and running to the tip of the sword? And maybe not as thick or fluffy looking either. On the whole though, a good pic. d=(^_^)=b kirby gives it two thumbs up Amy A. Carlstrom replies: "RoFL -- now that you mention it, it does look like a feather boa. I drew this so long ago, but I think I was trying to go for a "flames curling along the blade" sort of look. Thanks for the feedback, though. If I ever try something like this again, I'll definitely keep that in mind. The singing sword was not a lounge singer!"
