SciFi and Fantasy Art: My Doll Came Home to Hang

Part Two of the 'My Doll' series.... there are so many things wrong with this painting its not funny, though I still think it has some rudimentary charm. This was an experiment in glazing with oils in the background. I quite like the colour and depth of the background, though I found it difficult to achieve smoothness - any suggestions or tips would be highly appreciated! I am thinking of submitting this for the Bifrost Flights of Fancy project because of the little winged cat - don't know if it is appropriate though?

I love this doll! I just adore her saucer sized eyes! Very nice painting job too, I think you've really improved! This reminds me very much of the style of Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas", which is a good thing. As for being in the project, well, this doesn't really strike me as a "Flight of Fancy", but hey, this is YOUR interpretation of the theme, not mine! (Hehe.. maybe the winged cat should star in a picture of his own?)

Oh phwoot, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this pic.. it's just so utterly charming in itself! I love her just hanging there as dolls would do! Very sweet. love the cutie kitty at the foot of the pic! Rather nice, but rather sad too! ^_^

I just had to come back and visit your doll. She's gorgeous! I just love the way you've posed her, with her head cocked to the side... I think I'd really like to draw her some day. I'll mail you if I actually get anything on paper. 2

Well I love the picture. I like the concept. When I looked at the thumbnail and read the title I thought you did something really ansty to the doll, but since it is a puppet I guess it is just resting.

I love the picture. It's cute and nasty at the same time, which is my favourite combination. I like the squirrel and the shrooms, because they frame the doll and push her back into the picture space. The blue background works well with the orange tones. You could get smoothness by using a fan brush, but is smoothness a good thing? Van Gogh never bothered with smoothness. Anyway, it's lovely work, Dwan.

creepy and demented..this looks like some crazy-arse killer doll that slowly turns it head wherever you move. it makes me want to frikin puke on you and i want to rip up this picture, but sadly i currently don't have it with me. and this, i think is one of your BETTER works of "art." that's just SAD! No me gusta tu arte! <~~ my nice beaner friend, THE MAJIK MEXICAN! BWUAHAHA!!... anyways, it's bad and below par and morbid. do us all a favor and stop drawing this SHITE and actually draw something WORTH LOOKING AT, if possible for you. Like they say, SOME people have teh magic, and evereyone else sucks. sorry, but you don't have teh magic, so take art lessons, throw away anything art related that you have, chop your hands off, stare at your arse and blind yourself, i dunno. anything to stop you from drawing, painting, coloring, whatevas.. need i say more? i don't think so.
