SciFi and Fantasy Art: Beleg Cuthalion

Beleg Strongbow, another elf of Beleriand fame. He was a great and renowned hunter (and of course archer) in the woods of that land. He was also best of friends with the Man Turin Turambar. 'Thus Beleg returned one more to Turin, and their meeting was glad; and Beleg yielding to his love against his wisdom remained with him, and did not depart, and that time he laboured much for the good of Turin's company... And because Beleg was strong and enduring, farsighted in mind as in eye, he came to be held in honour among the outlaws' 'Thus ended Beleg Strongbow, truest of friends, greatest in skill of all that harboured in the woods of Beleriand in the Elder Days, at the hand of him whom he most loved; and that gried was graven on the face of Turin and never faded.' ::cries:: Snippetry from The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien.

::wants to steal some of Hannah's hottie elf dudes:: 12 His eyes seem a little off, but that may be because of the strand of hair over his right eye, which is a really awesome effect, by the way. It adds emotion to the piece.

Actually, this picture makes me feel sad when I look at it. Very haunting.

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Yah, that was an ill-placed strand of hair. I should've moved it but was characteristically too lazy."

Indeed *sniffles*. He was cool. I'm not sure if your depiction matches my own, but hey, it's all down to interpretation, isn't it? I always imagined him with shorter hair for some reason. I have Tolkien pics in my gallery if you ever wish to come and have a look. Again, decent work with the anatomy. I'm impressed!

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Really? This is actually how I imagined him, which is unique because there's really no telling when I draw a person if it will come out how I imagine him/her, or if I will just pretend that that's how I imagine him/her. Ah, cest la vie. Thanks for stopping by!"

Poor dear Beleg 8 Your portrait is worthy of him, though 2

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "::beams:: Thanks! It's kind of plain.. but I don't know what kind of background to add besides trees, which I'm loathe to do with a pencil..."

This is really nice, and i think the Curufin picture is excellent.
If you do a picture of Turin what will it look like? I always pictured him as kind of looking like the young clint eastwood myself. What do you think of that? Keep up the great work!...Steve

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Turin Turin Turin... He would be fairly scraggily I imagine. He's on my mind as subject matter so you might get to see him soon, keep an eye open."
