SciFi and Fantasy Art: LostHave you ever been really engrossed in a book, and you suddenly find yourself staring into space, just lost in reverie? She has. This one is for Kass. :) | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 12 Mar 2001 | Angelina | Wow. Even though I'm not supposed to say this...wow. This looks like a photograph! I love just about everything in this picture...except, the wall behind her could be a little less detailed; it draws attention away from her lovely, lovely face! Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Well, I've never had someone not like the background, but thatt's alright. I'm glad you like the face. " | |
| 1 Apr 2001 | Deborah L. R. Dixon | You've captured the moment perfectly. Another VERY lovely pic. I have to start at least attempting backgrounds. They add so much to the composition. Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "You don't need to add *anything* to yours though." | |
| 10 Apr 2001 | Bonnie | Well, I was just going to comment on the gallery as a whole, but I love this picture, and I feel compelled. I'm not much as art critics go, not knowing much about art, but I love her expression - even if you hadn't described it, I might have guessed the emotion. I think this is my favorite of yours so far, Hannsikins! Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "::twirls her::" | |
| 24 Aug 2001 | Lorelei | hmm, her head is a bit large, when I look at the thumbnail, but otherwise it's a great pic. Your description, that's exactly what I do when I read a really good book. Something in the book will make me just stop and think. I don't know if my expression is like hers, but you've got the mood exactly. The detail is amazing. I do hope she has more light than just that one candle, though. It's very hard to read by candlelight. Don't ask me how I learned, but I KNOW. ;-D Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "::hugs:: I know the feeling well, too. I do the same thing as well, though I doubt I'm as gorgeous as she, but..." | |
| 29 Dec 2001 | Charlie Fowler | hm, reading your bio, and flipping through the pictures, I'm having difficulty understanding why you would have anything negative to say about your art. It's very refreshing to see the moods and settings captured, not a person (thing) just standing there. Great work, just blow past the negative stuff, or use it sparingly and constructively, but don't let it get to you, that's for sure. Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Thanks, I'll try!" | |
| 19 Feb 2002 | Elyse B. Gray | I actually did a drawing of a girl who looked somewhat similar to this (the hair and dress). I haven't scanned it yet though. Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Hm, well let me know when you do. I'd be very interested in seeing it!" | |
| 21 Feb 2002 | Lauren Monique Julien | Her face is so pretty, such a sweet, naive expression. And I agree with whoever complimented you on the face in the mirror....very well done. I know I've never had the guts to even attempt that! Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "It was just a small atempt at the mirror effect. I may have to try it again another time to see if I can do it even better." | |
| 30 May 2002 | Brett Cushing | She's very pretty. And you've done the proportions right. The pattern on the mirror (that is a mirror, right? >< *feels stupid*) is also very impressive. The whole pic has a very medieval feel to it. Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Hee, yes that's a mirror. And thank you for your comments. It is sorta medieval I think, too. The mirror was a real trip. Am glad I appear to have pulled it off." | |
| 21 Dec 2002 | Trisha W. Farnan | This is lovely also. You did a good job of putting her in the foreground (though perhaps a teensy bit more definition would help) and also of doing the reflection. Eek, I would be too scared to try reflections like that *g* The mirror's ornateness is impressive too. Her expression is clear - she's definitely daydreaming. Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Yes, the mirror was pretty intimidating, and I had no idea how to go about doing it. I'm not satisfied, but everyone seems to enjoy it, and that's all that matters. " | |
| 27 Dec 2002 | ... | So it's not just me?! i always get that feeling, generally in the car... Anyway, you've captured that moment beautifully, well done! Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Cool, I'm glad you could relate!" | |
