SciFi and Fantasy Art: Wisdom

Nynaeve, from Robert Jordan's series. No, she's not my favorite character or anything approaching that. Just easy to draw.

Well, I confess that I've always had a love/hate relationship with NYn, but this portrait... is amazing. Possibly one of my new favorite Elfwood Nynaeves. One thing I really like, for instance, is the way the ring hangs on the cord. It has actual *heft*, seemingly, which is difficult to convey. The dress seems a little undefined, but this is a portrait, after all, and her face does come front and center, even with the "slightly-to-the-right" composition. In short, I'm drooling, I'm still jealous of your talent, but I shall try even harder to emulate your greatness.

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Thanks Jae. I think my thought on the dress was that as an Accepted's (or whatever, I forget now) dress, it should be simpler. And besides, clothes are always simple in my drawings, because they aren't as interesting to me as a face, unless I have a particular inspiration. The Elves' clothes for instance are all mostly plain and simple, because that's what you wear when you're mucking through the forests... Erm. Yes."

Yay! You finally put this one up! :21quish!:: This is so one my favorites, and I'm not a big Nynaeve fan either. I just really like the way you drew her. She's pretty, but in a very unique way rather than in a traditional drop-dead gorgeous way. I like that. 2

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Yus, like you said it. 2"

NOt how I see her, but a nice picture 2 I like Nynaeve and I always hated Egwene 2

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Thanks, not precisely how *I* see her either, but ah well."

I really like this picture because she - Nynaeve - looks like a real person; not impossibly beautiful, or just impossible. I mean, she's pretty enough, but not unbelievably so; she's real.

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Yes I agree. Even though it was just happenstance that it ended up that way. Also, happenstance is a fun word."

Yay, Nynnie! *g* She's not my favourite character but she's one of them most definitely. I love her bitchiness (though kinda miss it lately *g*). Anyway, this is one of the most accurate representations of Nyn that I've ever seen - at least most accurate in accordance with my own conception of Nynaeve. THank you for putting this up, it's beautiful!!

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Yay!"

I really love her face, so lifelike and a very good expression. Sort of pensive yet inquiring, well done. The hair too is wonderful and that curl above her right eye could almost double as a tatoo! 2

:-) Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Thanks! I think her face is very unique as well."

Would you mind, if i put this picture in my elfwood WOT tour?

22 Hannah Lee Fritz replies: "Of course not!"
