| 1 Nov 2001 | Rachelle Auble | Ohhhhhh...ahhhhhhhh! This is ever so cool. I suppose this is the Viking you were referring too. However! this is not in the upper, right hand corner! LOL Very nicely done.
(in reference to the previous comment) It is NOT done! It has no background! I have very high standards for Jan to live up to and since I'm actually making an effort to have backgrounds in my artwork he had better make an effort also! LOL ;-P | |
| 4 Nov 2001 | Anon. | Don't you people see the 'Unfinished' written over the drawing? Come complain about the background when I finish this work | |
| 4 Nov 2001 | Alex Aal | Nice viking... His clothes are great and look very natural. Except, of course, the background is missing. | |
| 13 Nov 2001 | Alex Aal | Heh JC... We're all just happy we have something to comment on. Some meaningfull critique so our comments don't get stuck on 'oh wow'. That is why we mention the lack of background. Please try to understand. | |
| 7 Jul 2002 | Nonny | Hey, cool--although he looks more Mongol/Russian than Viking...but supposedly Russia was eventually ruled by a Viking (of the Russ tribe or something--hence 'Russia'). *blushes at her excessive useless knowledge* Nice costume, anyways. | |
| 23 Sep 2002 | Oleg Melikhov | Wow, this is nice, i love the stance and the expression | |
| 22 Jan 2004 | Hiro Yoshimoto | Its very good except for one thing... Hes unable to fight. Vikings could not go to war until they had a beard. Thats why all vikings has beards. | |
| 27 Nov 2005 | J. D. | Rusvikings are the peacocks of the viking world, especially those with access to the great markets of Constantinople where the trade routes from Persia, India and the Far East lead. Passable, for Rus, although the axe is severely uber- blingy. As far as the beard bit goes, it wasn't exactly a hard and fast rule, although it would be hard for a 'beardless boy' to win the respect of his peers. As severely rich as this rusviking is, and as expensively armed- the axe is positively princely- I think we can be fairly sure he's not afraid of a ruck. | |
| 28 Mar 2006 | Gods' Bane | The axe is not as richly addorned as you might think. the angle from which it is drawn allows for a lot of refection on the polished edge. and the knotwork was rather common on war axes as that is what defined it as a weapon and not a mere tool. Also as to the "beardless boys" referance that saying mearly refered to facial hair in general. The style of mustashe this man is waring was rather common amongst the Vikings. Being a quarter Russian and a quarter Swedish I feel a very strong conection to the Vikings and am very happy that one of the Rus has been represented so well on this site. | |
