SciFi and Fantasy Art: Maiden, Mother, Crone

I absolutely loved this project. Only because I got to do cubism how I wanted it to be done and it turned more into facetism than anything. But I simply adored this picture, inspired to me after looking at much of Charles Vess's work. I actually have anotherone started of a mermaid and a satyr. Hopefully I will finish that soon, done in the same style, but after I have had time to reflect upon this one. Done upon textured green art paper in prisma colors.

Laura Beth Katt replies: "Thank you very much! I have to say that the woman with the wooden skin and hair set ablaze was my favorite one to work on in the picture. A melding of earth and fire. I have a few more like this that I'm working on. I hope I get them done soon!"

13 Nov 2002	Me3gogi	Loading... Wow! I love the fire effect, and the icy maiden. The whole image is a very cool effect - specialy the background. The blue and green go very well together, and i love her dress!! Laura Beth Katt replies: "Thank you, thank you, and thank you. It was one of my favorite pieces ever and I've been taking my time in actually creating a new one, when ever that gets around to being finished. It's a lot of fun to forget about everything but sharp shapes and shading."
