SciFi and Fantasy Art: Celtic Beastie

Probably inspired by looking too much at medieval manuscripts, except those were often coloured with gold leaf anf looked much more impressive.

This is different from your other pictures! Sorry, I know I've been commenting all over the gallery, but I like them 2 It's good you're getting into other styles! And I've always been fond of celtic mythology... is it Nessie?

I have no idea what beastie it is.. perhaps its a unique species. I don't mind you commenting, quite the opposite - Thank you!

I love how this pic is so vibrant in movement and colour. Yes, it seems to have turned out quite well, really.

Awesome! I love celtic knots! I don't know if this falls into the "knot" category but it definitely has that celtic feel to it 19) It's very creative, and just like someone said, it looks like something you'd find in one of those ye olde books ;o) Er...minus the caption at the bottom ;o)Yes, I don't think it was even very planned. Probably if I tried to think 'celtic knot' it would have got all tangled up while I was drawing it! Thanks!

You must be a hobbit, because it looks very Celtic (with a twist). You don't need gold-leaf to make a beast impressive, you need a good flow of knot-work. Its in my favorite color combo too, sweet deal. It looks classic, be proud. -K

Wonder what you will become after that : a pixie, a faery, an elf ?
Maybe I'm going to say an enormous dumb thing, but it reminds me rather of some kind of Aztec/Maya creature like Quetzalcoatl or someone like that ! I really like those bright colours, this intricated shape ! And the beast's head looks definitely middle-age...Aztec or Maia? I use to study these things, but I drew this before I did them... Still if I didn't have so many works lying around unfinished I could do something pre-columbian inspired... ^_^
